Our client is seeking a DRILLING MANAGER to work within their facilities located in RIO DE JANEIRO.

This professional responsibility is to design and implement procedures to drill wells in a safe and environmental friendly manner at reasonable financial costs; Works closely with exploration team to ensure all their requirements are met; Interface with drilling contractors, service contractors and compliance personnel; Oversees complex drilling operations; Develops, manages and leads the in-country drilling team; Implements sustainable and safe drilling practices; Communicates well with other petro-tech functions to ensure success of drilling operations. This is a high profile position functioning as an integral part of the exploration team.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


·         Interfaces with other company personnel to ensure appropriate communication to meet the needs of the exploration teams and other groups involved in all phases of the drilling operation;
·         Represents the company in meetings with outside regulatory and governmental agencies to resolve issues involving compliance and drilling activities;
·         Develops and evaluates new methods for saving time and costs related to drilling programs;
·         Works with the Project Service team for bids and helps negotiate third party services and administration of drilling contracts;
·         Manages the exploration project drilling team


REQUIREMENTS:


·           Bachelor’s Degree or Masters’ in Engineering required;
·           The ideal candidate for this position should possess at least 15+ years of applicable experience in the oil & gas industry;
·           Strong technical and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to coordinate multiple initiatives and supervise diverse teams in support of large-scale drilling operations;
 
 
·           Strong operations management, engineering leadership and project coordination abilities;
·           Conduct the operation with stringent safety, environmental and regulatory practices and compliance;
·           Proven strengths with mentoring less experienced staff and working with colleagues in an exploration based team;
·           Drilling background including field developments and exploration drilling as a project drilling manager, office drilling engineer, field engineer, and/or drilling supervisor;
·           Fluent English;
·           Legally authorized to work in Brazil on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.
